Curseball is a free game released under a name your own price model. It is a puzzle platformer in which the player must clear a series of levels, with each level having a different “curse” that is randomly selected at the start of play. These curses are obstacles and other entities that can kill the player.

The game features a retro art style and a 4-color palette system which the player can change, with additional palettes being unlockable. The game features a mix of styles, such as the ball mechanics from PONG! Multiplayer, and the game's movement controls are like Zelda Classic.

Hit the ball

The core objective of the game is to destroy a large ball that is bouncing around the screen. The player does this by walking into it or jumping on it. If the player doesn’t hit the ball before its timer runs out, it’s game over, but the timer resets with every hit. The player must hit the ball enough times to deplete the health and win the level.

Levels and curses

Each level is a floating platform that the player cannot walk off. Depending on the difficulty of the level, the platforms may be awkwardly arranged or moving. Before each level, the player spins a wheel to determine which curse they will face, such as deadly rain.

A fun but short game

Curseball is an engaging game with a minimalist art style that is effective. It features smooth controls and a decent amount of content for a short game. Some of the color palette options can be a bit difficult on the eyes after a while, but the player can select other palettes.
