Beyond Sunset is a futuristic first-person shooting platform that offers a retro appeal thanks to its cyberpunk design. Reminiscent of computer games associated with the late 1980s, this bundle provides a synergy of action and sci-fi nostalgia.

Inspired by other FPS games, such as DOOM Eternal, players are immediately thrust into fast-paced action within an open-world environment. Likewise, the inclusion of pixelated graphics is a nice testament to the "golden age" of first-person shooters.

Lost memories

Users will take on the role of a cybernetically enhanced human named Lucy. Boasting samurai skills and being equipped with powerful weapons, her main intention is to eliminate enemies and uncover lost memories in order to remember to unravel her past life.

Classic FPS action

Beyond Sunset harkens back to the days of so-called "bullet hell" games when players were forced to confront a seemingly endless number of enemies. Thankfully, Lucy can use weapons, such as Gatling guns, plasma rifles, and swords, to fend off these waves while progressing to different environments.

"Gun Jutsu"

Another unique feature of Beyond Sunset involves the skills that Lucy needs to master. Dubbed "Gun Jutsu," she will be required to climb walls, jump off buildings, and deflect bullets with her samurai sword. Special abilities can also be unlocked over time.

A combination of aesthetics and brutality

While the gunplay found within Dark Sunset is comparable to other FPS platforms, including Deus Ex 2: Invisible War, Cyberpunk elements and a dark synthwave-inspired soundtrack add a unique flavor to this game. First-person shooting fans of any age should take a closer look.
