Battlers of Ekrasys, developed and published by Itchys, is a strategy game with a sprinkle of RPG elements centering around experimentation. In this strategy-meets-RPG, players must craft precious stones, improve their existing magical qualities through the Smithmagic system, and mix and match unique abilities to defeat relentless waves of monsters. 

Although illustrated in minimalist 2D visuals, Battlers of Ekrasys delivers a retro, action-filled experience with turn-based combat, strategy, and tactical elements. Furthermore, the game utilizes roguelite, auto-battler, and resource management mechanics, keeping the gameplay challenging with overcomplexity but encouraging players to create and adapt various playstyles. 

Defeat waves of monsters 

In Battlers of Ekrasys, you must pick five spells from a collection of abilities. Each spell takes turns and falls in an endless loop for every battle, allowing you to eliminate various enemy factions and obtain rewards. Choose the appropriate spells to fend off waves of enemies and defeat the bosses to learn more spells from them and expand your arsenal. 

As the waves of enemies get increasingly challenging, you must utilize the game's deep crafting and customization aspects to merge spells and create the most devastating ones imaginable. Another way to keep up with the increasing difficulty is crafting jewels with random stat boosts or special effects. To maximize these items, use the Smithmagic system to tweak them and upgrade and optimize your stats. 

The best thing about this game is its idle mechanics, letting you progress even when you are not actively playing. It means no matter what the circumstances, you are always getting stronger one way or another. However, although this game is action-packed, everything is purely text-based, making it fall flat for players expecting a fast-paced or visually engaging combat experience.

Battlers of Ekrasys offers a layered, strategic experience that rewards experimentation and long-term planning through its spell-crafting, resource management, and roguelite systems. While its idle progression and deep customization provide satisfying depth for tactical thinkers, the purely text-based combat presentation might undercut the “action-packed” promise for those seeking a more visceral thrill. Still, it’s a uniquely complex and rewarding challenge.
