Wildfire is a free strategy title created by an indie developer who goes by the name Salvador. It is a roguelike defense game that features charming graphics and revolves around an abandoned fireplace. Players will need to defend against all kinds of dangers and forest wildlife coming in waves.

Similar to Plants vs. Zombies or Rush Royale, Wildfire is a mix of strategic gameplay and quirky charm. After every successful defense, players will get to choose from random perks and bonuses to help them face the next wave of enemies that are gradually getting tougher to defeat and defend against.

By the fireplace

In Wildfire, a fireplace has been left and abandoned by its campers. However, enchanted forest wildlife is slowly approaching, drawn by the flame. You will need to protect it against the waves of animals coming ever closer by shooting out flames at them before they get too close. Otherwise, you'll get damaged and get put out.

The controls in the game are simple and easy to learn as you only need to tap on an enemy to start shooting your flames at it. Pay attention to their distance and health gauges, and focus on those closer to you. The game currently features 13 unique enchanted enemies to face and defeat across multiple waves throughout your gameplay.

After a successful defense, you are given three random perks to use for the next wave and increase your chance of survival. Some of them include increased attack speed, health and damage buffs, and over 100 upgrades. Now, just be aware that the game is still in active development. As such, there are still plenty of things coming, as well as bugs to get fixed in future updates.

All in all, Wildfire is a charming roguelike that is a bit more on the casual and relaxing side when it comes to gameplay. The cute art style adds to that and the simple controls mean it's easy to learn and get into. It's far from being finished, though, but it's well worth checking out even in its current state.
