Another Farm Roguelike: Rebirth is a premium strategy game for PC developed by Zabbo Games. It’s a pixel art farming sim, wherein players will build and grow their farm to help pay for their increasing rent costs. They will start with a small patch of land that will gradually grow into a full-fledged farmstead.

Compared to other farming games like Coral Island or Sun Haven, Another Farm Roguelike: Rebirth takes a simpler approach to gameplay with roguelike and deckbuilding mechanics to let players plan and adapt their tactics to achieve the best results for their farm.

A farming challenge

From the get-go, Another Farm Roguelike: Rebirth is not a typical farming experience, as the gameplay leans more into roguelike territory. You’ll start with a small patch of land to tend, but you will be presented with randomly generated farming challenges as you attempt to earn enough to pay for your rent, which continually goes up with each passing season.

Choose from multiple unique characters, each with their own unique playstyle that alters the way you build up your farm in various ways. Each time you level up, you get to choose from random upgrades to build your unique set of farming tools. As you slowly expand your reach, unlock eight distinct biomes with a corresponding set of structures to build and new farming challenges.

You will also raise farm animals to produce another source of revenue. There are three game modes available, including the main classic mode, a challenge mode with unique challenges to overcome, and an endless mode that lets you just chill. Having said all that, the game needs to work on game balance, with how unreasonably high rent goes up week after week.

Fun but flawed

All in all, Another Farm Roguelike: Rebirth is a fun and engaging farming roguelike with interesting mechanics and challenging gameplay. However, the experience is negatively impacted by poor game balancing. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
