Unlock different yokai allies, choose from class options, and test skills within dungeon crawler stages. The cute, cartoony visual design softens the darker premise, with expressive hand-drawn characters and colorful environments. However, the gameplay loop can feel limited, with battles sometimes coming across as too simplified compared to other JRPGs.

However, the straightforward combat may leave you wanting more complexity if you’re already familiar with strategy-heavy JRPGs. Still, it provides a light way to experience folklore in game form.
