Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a 2-in-1 action-adventure role-playing game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA for desktop gaming. This adventure title consists of Yakuza Kiwami 3, the full remake of Yakuza 3, and Dark Ties, a brand-new storyline. 

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties features two characters from Yakuza 3. Yakuza Kiwami 3 centers on Kazuma Kiryu, a former member of the yakuza who seeks to protect his loved ones, and Dark Ties focuses on Yoshitaka Mine, a man who wades into the life of the yakuza after losing everything. 

Fight and survive 

Experience the thrilling and dangerous life of the yakuza in Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, where you play as two opposing characters — one as an ex-member who wants to leave the life he used to have but forced to live it to guard those dearest to him, and one as an up-and-coming member of the criminal underworld, determined to cement his place in the system. 

Bask under the sparkling sunlight of Ryukyu, Okinawa, and its picturesque scenery as Kazuma Kiryu, and fight against hordes of yakuza members by unleashing his relentless fighting style, the Dragon of Dojima, alongside his weapon-based Ryukyu techniques. Customize Kiryu as you progress through the main story and beyond, while discovering subplots and taking part in side activities along the way. 

Meanwhile, you play as Yoshitaka Mine in a brand-new storyline, set in Kamurocho, Tokyo, Japan’s largest entertainment district. Fight against deadly foes using his shoot-boxing combat and experience a variety of side content, including mahjong. Unfortunately, the designs and overall graphics, especially the poor lighting and overuse of screen filters, of the game are a bit of a letdown compared to its predecessors.

Ultimately, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties delivers a compelling dual perspective on the yakuza underworld, blending emotional storytelling with hard-hitting combat and abundant side content. While its visuals might not always match the strength of its narrative and gameplay, the contrasting journeys of Kiryu and Mine offer a rich and engaging experience that both longtime fans and newcomers can appreciate.
