Wild Bastards is an action game. It is a thrilling roguelike strategy shooter that combines fast-paced FPS action with tactical decision-making. Set in a galaxy of notorious outlaws, you lead a gang of 13 unique outlaws, each with their own set of abilities, weapons, and personalities. The game has you traveling from planet to planet, recruiting gang members and managing their dynamics, all while engaging in heart-pounding shootouts. 

In Wild Bastards, the story centers around the remnants of the infamous Wild Bastards gang, which was nearly wiped out by the puritanical magnate Jebediah Chaste.  

Guns, grit, and glory 

In Wild Bastards, you control the last two surviving members and a mysterious sentient spaceship known as the Drifter. Together, you must rebuild the gang by resurrecting fallen outlaws and fleeing to the mythical Homestead. Each planet you visit brings different challenges. Before landing, you evaluate the planet’s terrain, enemies, and traits to help you choose which outlaws to take into battle.  

The procedurally generated planets ensure that no two missions are the same, keeping the gameplay fresh and dynamic. Showdowns are intense, short-lived battles filled with quick decision-making and a variety of enemy tactics. The enemies are not only tough but also clever, using cover and special abilities to challenge you at every turn. Managing your gang is a crucial part of the game.  

Each outlaw has a unique growth tree, and you must gather resources to heal them, improve their skills, and strengthen their relationships. However, not all outlaws get along, and it’s your job to handle their dynamic relationships. This adds a layer of strategy beyond the battlefield, as feuding gang members might disrupt your plans. However, difficulty spikes during some missions can feel overwhelming.
