WiFi Scanner is a powerful WiFi scanning tool which allows you to find and manage WiFi connections. Although it provides a bit more power than most average users will need, its particularly useful for professionals that need detailed analysis, monitoring and management of WiFi networks. For other users, WiFi Scanner is probably most useful for monitoring the strength of signals in range more accurately than OS X's built-in WiFi manager. WiFi Scanner can alert you to the strongest signals with an audible beep when a network is close enough to maintain a stable connection. For professionals, you can filter networks by signal type (SSID, BSSID, RSSI etc) and frequency i.e. either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz. You can of course connect to a network simply by clicking the "Join" option at the far left of the network list although you can do this just as easily using your Mac's AirPort manager.
