Using the WI Exposure Notification app allows you to stay safe during the COVID-19 outbreak in Wisconsin. It allows you to voluntarily connect to the Bluetooth and exchange anonymous keys with other devices nearby. The device will remember the keys generated by other devices nearby. You can choose to turn this on or off. After that, you are ready to start checking for yourself, family, and friends who are close enough to be considered a close contact and at risk of exposure to COVID-19.

The app also allows you to report a positive test result via the app. When a user receives a positive test result, they will receive a verification code from the state. This prevents people from falsely reporting positive results. If a user chooses to share a positive test result, this notifies other app users that were close enough to the infected person for a long enough period of time (approximately within 6 feet of someone for at least 15 minutes in a single day) that they are considered a close contact and at risk of exposure.
