Whispers of the Dead story begins with Eve Levine’s abduction, setting the tone for the eerie journey ahead. Adam Hale, her poet fiancé, is thrust into the chilling puzzle of unraveling the mysteries behind his cryptic poems and the collection of poems' connections to Eve’s fate.  

A game of survival and fear 

In Whispers of the Dead, as Adam, players must explore his dimly lit apartment, deciphering cryptic poems that appear to predict future horrors. These verses, tied to the seven deadly sins, manifest into unsettling events, each more terrifying than the last. Adam's journey is one of discovery and desperation as he pieces together a reality that threatens to consume him. 

On the other hand, when the game shifts to Eve’s perspective, the game turns into a survival horror experience. Waking up in a bleak forest, she is thrust into a deadly hunt, stalked by three sinister entities: Leviathan, who moves unseen; Belthazar, who attacks in firelight; and Mammon, a relentless pursuer. With only a single weapon and limited resources, Eve must evade, fight, and outwit these grotesque foes to survive. 

The tension reaches its peak when Adam encounters a celestial figure cloaked in shadows, standing before a fiery portal. This moment ties the fates of both protagonists together, forcing players to confront the reality behind the whispers and the role Adam’s poetry plays. The line between fate and free will blurs at this point. However, while the game prioritizes stealth and evasion, combat feels somewhat restrictive.
