Put simply, WhamPunch is a superhero fighting game, wherein you take on the role of an unnamed fighter with unique abilities and powers who gets to fight against superpowered enemies in larger-than-life battles. There is a wide variety of enemies to face across multiple large open maps with highly destructible environments, and 10 unique boss fights that require different tactics to defeat.

True to its name, the core combat in WhamPunch revolves around melee attacks, as you build up combos to send enemies hurling towards structures to cause explosions and destruction. Each enemy boss you defeat unlocks various fighting styles and superpowers, which include force, lightning, and fire. Devise unique strategies to defeat enemies and reach the portal at the end of the stage to progress.

The game takes place in diverse locations, from city streets to skyscrapers and even more sci-fi-esque environments, such as post-apocalyptic ruins and a neon-soaked cyberpunk metropolis, all of which you can freely explore as you fight. Now, aside from the demo, the full version doesn’t have a release date yet, so you have to wait a while longer if you want more.
