The complete and total darkness is not the only thing that will put you on edge but as well as the small sounds you will hear while walking around. Most of the time, you will hear nothing but silence and that is what makes the tiniest noises surprising. One of the cliches you will find in this game are doors that will open and close on their own, objects falling without being touched by anyone, and lights suddenly being turned off. Speaking of which, flickering lights will also give you glimpses of the ghosts that are after you before disappearing completely from sight, making you feel immensely paranoid. Visage is one of the most frightening horror games that you will get to play. It may have applied the usual jump scares but it is able to creatively twist them in a way that the fear would linger within you throughout the whole game.
