Vincent: The Secret of Myers is a free sci-fi adventure video game wherein you must discover the secrets of your past. Developed by dino999z, this 2D indie visual novel is a mystery interactive fiction game that offers puzzles and point-and-click gameplay. 

Set in the same universe as Therapy With Dr. Albert Krueger, Vincent: The Secret of Myers features a character connected to that game’s protagonist and the same lore that you can explore via the expansive narrative and explorable sections. It also has flashing images, jumpscares, and other horror elements—and players easily affected by these aren’t recommended to play it.

What is Vincent: The Secret of Myers?

The story of Vincent: The Secret of Myers heavily revolves around the infamous G4 Cyborg Incident—with the once-prosperous Myers Corporation now on the brink of bankruptcy, bringing the once-busy G4 district to a slow halt. You play as an amnesiac character who suddenly finds themself inside a mysterious mansion. You must investigate the loss of your memories and the clues left behind about the Myers Corporation.

The gameplay here is similar to Therapy With Dr. Albert Krueger—although the art style isn’t pixelated. You have to explore certain sections by using point-and-click mechanics in order to discover clues to advance. Additionally, you’ll come across puzzles every now and then. It also plays like a traditional VN, with dialogue and action options for you to gather more clues and survive harrowing encounters.

Take note that this game contains several horror elements—with violent jump scares, loud noises, flashing images, and gore. Thus, it’s not recommended for players who easily get overwhelmed by them. The writing is superb and highly engaging but each chapter is released in an episodic fashion so you’ll have to check back every now and then for an update in order to continue where you left off in the story. 

A solid mystery game

All in all, Vincent: The Secret of Myers is a great horror mystery VN to get into for any fans of the genre. While waiting for all chapters to be released can take a while and it’s a hassle to manually check for updates, each chapter has enough content to effectively tell the overarching story and get to know the colorful cast.
