Verdant is a free grass plugin for Skyrim. Verdant was initially set to be a tweak of Tamu75’s Unique Grasses and Groundcovers plugin and was merely supposed to add grass density. However, as the project progressed, it took form as a complete standalone grass plugin for Skyrim. 

There are alternative plugins to use if you want to overhaul how the grass looks in your game, one of which is Velanimus Grass Overhaul. Another excellent grass plugin is The Elder Scrolls - Veydosebrom - Grass and Groundcover.  

Comprehensive Groundcover Mod

Verdant uses grasses from Unique Grasses, SFO, Unbelievable Grass, Hoddminir's Flowers, and Tamriel Reloaded - Grass. It is, however, a standalone mod and doesn't require any of these as dependencies. This mod also uses the Grass on Steroids Tweak so that lower-end computers can still run it without taking a massive FPS and performance hit. 

If you already have GoS installed, you shouldn't experience any conflicts. Included in this plugin are a 1k grass version and a 512 version that boosts performance even more. 

Technical Details

Verdant is compatible with a few other flora mods, but you don't necessarily need any more than this because it is such a comprehensive and fully loaded mod. For good measure, here are the mods you can run with Verdant:

• Skyrim Flora Overhaul
• Dark Fantasy Overhaul
• Unique Flowers and Plants

Here is also a list of mods that Verdant is incompatible with. Running any of these with Verdant will result in reduced performance, conflicts, and possibly crashes.

User Friendly

While there are many textures and meshes, it's recommended that you use a mod manager to install this plugin. Using either NMM or MO makes this mod easy to install without prior modding knowledge. Uninstallation is easy as well with the use of a mod manager. 

Verdant is already optimized to run on lower-end devices and deliver supreme quality on higher-end PCs. There is no need to perform extra tweaks like set the grass to iMinGrassSize=10. When you do this, you are effectively layering multiple grass meshes on top of one another, which doesn't increase the quality, and will damage your video card.

Verdant is the last word in grass plugins for Skyrim. Its modder is specifically designed to include as much variety as possible for in-game grass and will completely overhaul your game without using other groundcover mods.
