Vanguard Galaxy is a premium simulation PC game from developer Bat Roost Games.  It is a space sim adventure set in a sandbox world located in a fledgling dwarf galaxy. In it, players can take on all kinds of opportunities as they embark on their grand space exploration journey and a new chapter of their lives.

Comparable to games like Star Valor or No Man’s Sky, Vanguard Galaxy places great emphasis on open-world exploration and giving players the freedom to choose how to play. They can pick from various specializations and paths based on how they want to experience the game.

Fledgling galaxy

In Vanguard Galaxy, you manage to illegally hitch a ride through the Great Gate, destined for a fledgling dwarf galaxy, Canis Major. Instead of worrying about getting caught by the authorities, you’ve been given the opportunity for a fresh start. Thus begins your space adventure full of the unknown, but also where you can be anyone you want and forge your own path.

There are four main paths for you to take in Vanguard Galaxy. Whether it’s combat, salvaging, mining, or trading, you get to choose how you want to play and experience the game. Explore a vast, procedurally generated space connected by a gate wormhole network. Level up to unlock captain abilities and build a specialized crew, with each member offering unique perks and passive effects.

Form rivalries with other captains and choose whether to join a faction or strike out on your own. There’s also a unique autopilot feature that lets you play it from the bottom of your desktop screen, and it will seek out relevant activities on its own. One thing to note is that the game is still in Early Access, so development towards the full version is ongoing.
