Unworthy is an action game developed by Aleksander Kuzmanovic Games. Here, you play as a nameless swordsman who has risen from the grave. Robbed of life and unworthy of death, you will traverse a hostile world and fight epic bosses to prove your worth.

Unworthy plays similarly to Castlevania but with all the shortcuts, hidden paths, and cryptic mystery of Dark Souls. However, it is not as difficult as Dark Souls. It also does not come with the features of the popular action RPG. Moreover, some hidden bosses in this game can be obtuse and a little frustrating to find. 

Bite-sized Dark Souls game

Unworthy is a Metroidvania game that will remind players of Dark Souls and other Souls-like games. With this, expect hardcore action that focuses on tight combat. As mentioned, here, you will face various bosses as you explore the map and all its paths. Each boss will have multiple phases based on remaining health. As you play, you will uncover powerful weapons and abilities that can help you win more fights.

Unlike Dark Souls, however, there is no way to make an easy mode. You also don't have much control over how your characters level up besides trading max hp for attack power in the arena. Additionally, your equipment will have limited special abilities. Players will find the game a lot easier. The lore is a lot easier to follow, and you will have an easier time finding items and information.

Like Dark Souls, this one comes with a spectacular soundtrack. However, unlike Dark Souls, the badass music is not only during the boss fight. It will also play in every area of the game. The retro pixel graphics and the black, white, gray, and red color palette may put off a few people though. Nevertheless, the game offers incredible depth and detail underneath its monochromatic visuals. 

Worthy of your time

Overall, Unworthy is a must-play, especially if you are a fan of Dark Souls and Souls-like games. It has the same action-packed gameplay made more intense by its epic soundtrack. It has clever and created level design, which can be difficult but not unbalanced at any point. If you are looking for a new, milder—albeit shorter—Souls game, this one is definitely worth playing.
