Tunche is a hack and slash game that features roguelike elements. The player can choose from 5 unique characters before embarking upon a quest to save the Amazon rainforest. Tunche features a distinctive hand-drawn art style that makes regular gameplay look like an animated show.

The gameplay style of Tunche can be likened to games like Delver, which is another hack and slash roguelike — albeit a first-person one (Tunche is more of a 2D side-scroller). But for the art style, one could look to Cuphead.

Save the rainforest

Tunche features a compelling story in which the protagonist (whichever of the 5 characters the player chooses) sets out on a quest to save the rainforest. Along the way, they will have to defeat various enemies, battle bosses, complete challenges, and experience the narrative of the game. The game world is realized in immense detail, looking as professional as a high-quality animated feature.

Hack and slash alone or with friends

Players will have the option of choosing from 5 unique characters; Rumi the sorceress, Pancho the musician, Qaru the bird boy, Nayra the warrior, and Hat Kid. Each of these characters has its own unique set of attributes. The player can also enjoy the game in single-player mode or local multiplayer, with both shared-screen and split-screen flavors.

A great-looking game

One of the first things players will notice about Tunche is how good the game looks. The richly detailed environments and detailed character animations make for impressive visuals. It should be noted that some players have complained about the controls and movement being awkward in places, even to the point of being buggy, and the characters themselves being poorly balanced.
