Tumultuous development

After years in development and some setbacks, Tombwater is finally ready for its official launch, set for April 1, 2026. The demo version has been around for a while now and has seen multiple updates and tweaks, aimed to provide new players with a proper preview of what they can expect from the full version of the game when it comes.

Starting with the stamina and leveling system, which are now enabled, to let you experience how melee attacks and dashes drain your stamina meter and how defeated monsters give out EXP to level up your gunslinger through the journey. There’s a new default control scheme, and various tweaks have been made to the game’s available character classes, changing how they feel and play.

Other notable inclusions are the stagger mechanics for weapons and more charms and spells to experiment with for your loadouts. The punishing difficulty will challenge even the most veteran players, but you can now opt to select the Corpse Run option to reduce the penalties of dying during runs. New camera options, various game balance tweaks, and general UI improvements round out all the work the devs have put in.
