The Pocket Scavenger is an award-winning app that encourages users to interact with the world around them using their phone or tablet. Developed by Pearson PLC, the app prompts users to find and photograph a variety of quirky items, such as something miniature, a green stain, or an item from the year they were born.

Once an item is found, users can choose a random alteration to make, such as creating a funny character or photographing it at night. Completed scavenges can be uploaded to the map, allowing users to see what scavenges others are doing nearby. Additionally, users can share their scavenges on social media before embarking on their next hunt.
