The Fertile Farm is a free simulation video game wherein you can experience the miracle of motherhood while tending the farm life of your dreams. Developed by Preggopixels, this 2D pixelated indie game is a farming simulator RPG that uniquely focuses on the theme of pregnancy. 

Inspired by titles like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, The Fertile Farm has you taking care of a farm—from growing and harvesting crops to improving your home life with the crafting system. This game was made in celebration of “Mayternity 2021” and was given numerous improvements to expand its content.

A magical and abundant home

In The Fertile Farm, you play as Clara, who is already pregnant at the start of the game. Your goal is to eat a healthy amount of food every day while helping out with the chores at home in order to grow food for the family. The more nutritious food and good sleeping habits you take, the faster Clara’s pregnancy will proceed.

At its core, the gameplay is just half of a farming sim game and half of a pregnancy simulator—as the pregnancy part is more in-depth than usual here. You have to actively take into account the nutritional value of the food you eat and take care to sleep on time. Additionally, you’ll get cravings and side effects—just like in real life. You can even enable breastfeeding and lactation modes.

The game is open-ended and you just have to see how many kids you can get throughout your playthrough. If you enable Hyper Mode, though, Clara can get really big—enough that she can birth more than the normal amount of babies in one round of pregnancy. Fortunately, there’s no nudity involved here. However, the farming simulation elements aren’t as well-developed compared to other similar games.

The farming aspect needs more work

All in all, The Fertile Farm is an interesting kind of farming simulation game, as half of it encompasses another type of gameplay. While the farming system itself can still be heavily improved upon, the motherhood aspect is well-detailed and mostly takes into account how a pregnant woman would need to go about tending to her farm. If you want a different kind of farm game, this is a good option.
