You begin as a humble villager, handed a simple tool and the dream of shaping history.

In Chinese Frontiers, from the first hewn stone you place into the rising ramparts, you feel the weight of each decision: quarrying granite in mist-shrouded mountains, hauling timber through arid desert winds, or tending rice paddies beside serene river valleys.

Guide villagers from humble huts to bustling towns

In Chinese Frontiers, every structure grows from realistic, step–by–step building mechanics that let you saw beams, mix mortar, and position stone blocks with precision. Workshops bustle with activity as you assign tasks to NPC workers, balancing labor schedules, production chains, and resource stockpiles to keep your settlement thriving. As your walls stretch across three distinct biomes, you adapt to new challenges.

In the entirety of the game, in the high mountain passes, you battle steep slopes and thin air, finding creative ways to shore up fragile ledges. Under the desert sun the shifting sands test your foundations, while in floodplain villages you cultivate crops and raise livestock to feed your expanding workforce. Each region rewards careful planning and resourcefulness, pushing you to unlock advanced technologies.

Under the mentorship of master builders Jun and Mei, you research improved kiln designs, refine carving tools, and develop stronger mortar formulas that accelerate progress and withstand harsh conditions. Between construction projects you explore hand-painted villages, sample traditional Chinese cuisine cooked from ingredients you grew or traded, and decorate communal halls with ornate lanterns and carvings. However, slower pacing may not suit all players.
