Complete the Trials of Kornath and find The Dark Tower
The Dark Tower is a strategy game where players must go through the Trials of Kornath to find where The Dark Tower is situated. Developed by Ian C Pook for PC, this title is loosely inspired by the Open Game License of Dungeons and Dragons, specifically the first and second editions.
Alongside its strategic aspect, The Dark Tower also blends elements of role-playing and adventure games, delivering an action-packed and immersive experience that keeps players engaged with every encounter. This turn-based game is rendered in hand-drawn 2D visuals and features party-driven gameplay, offering an old-school aesthetic with modern strategic depth.
Create the most powerful unit
The events of The Dark Tower take place a millennium earlier than the dawning of the Great Cataclysm in the world of Qaedon. Dubbed the Age of Chaos, where all kinds of beings, including humans, greenskins, and monsters, fight for survival, this is the last part of the three-part series that kicked off with The Curse of Feldar Vale and continued in Mystery at Morgoth.
Form the most formidable team roster of four to six characters by recruiting traditional D&D races and single or multi-class units. Ensure that these heroes are properly fed before deploying in battles, as their efficiency depends on maintaining strength and stamina for optimal performance on the battlefield. Equipping them with armor and increasing their attributes can also strengthen them, enabling them to secure victory.
Explore the vast expanse of Qaedon, roam its towering buildings, and engage in intense combat within shadowy dungeons. Remember to keep your units in top condition, as the game features a permanent death mechanic. On a brighter note, units can be resurrected using Qaedi, the in-game currency. However, as promising as this title seems, it has a reported drawback that prevents players from creating new units.
Strategic RPG adventure
The Dark Tower offers a thrilling and immersive experience, blending strategy, role-playing, and adventure elements. Set in the chaotic world of Qaedon, it challenges players to navigate complex trials, manage their teams, and adapt to intense battles. While its permanent death mechanic and inability to create new units may pose challenges, the game’s rich visuals, deep strategic elements, and nostalgic appeal make it a captivating title.
