Tendryll is a premium action game coming from developer Brute Farce. It is a tactical turn-based deck builder that comprises grid-based levels and features roguelike mechanics in its gameplay. In it, players will lead a group of heroes through dungeons filled with demonic creatures and monsters.

Compared to games like Slay the Spire or Across the Obelisk, Tendryll also boasts multiple heroes with unique abilities and plenty of modifier items like relics and runes to augment combat. Newcomers can give its demo a try to get a sense of what they can expect from the gameplay.

Threads of fate

The game takes place in a dark fantasy world that is under the thumb of the dark and corrupted evil known as the titular Tendryll. You are tasked with forming a team of heroes to venture into dangerous dungeon-like levels that have a slow and creeping negative effect on their movement and actions. Analyze the environment, utilize your team's strengths, and overcome the odds.

Your heroes each have unique abilities and a dedicated set of cards to utilize in battle. Watch out for map nodes that let you swap in new cards for use in succeeding fights. There are more than 35 unique encounters across three acts, with over five bosses to defeat. There are 10 ascension levels to power up your team and a variety of runes and relics to augment their skills.

In addition, Tendryll has more than 30 bounties to accept that will have you track down specific enemies to unlock more heroes, and receive special relics and potions. If you like the demo and decide to purchase the game, just be aware that it is still in Early Access. That means there are more content updates and bug fixes to come in the future.

Challenging and fun

To conclude, if you're a fan of tactical RPGs and deck builders, you can have both in Tendryll and have a great time.
