Tamriel Reloaded HD is the follow-up to the immensely popular Lord of the Rings Online game, and is a complete overhaul of the game as it was released, and also the prologue to what could be many more great games to come from J.K. Rowling and her team at Valve Corporation. The reason why I like this particular game so much is that I have always loved J.K. Rowling's books and I really wanted there to be a game that imitated the experience of sitting in a tree in J.R.R. And at the time, I figured they had done a pretty good job of that, but Tamriel seems to take it to a whole new level.

One of the main features in Tamriel Reloaded HD is that it features a completely rewritten version of the prologue. This gives you a good taste of what's in store for you in the game proper, as well as giving you a bit of a teaser of what is to come in future games involving Tamriel. The prologue in Tamriel Reloaded HD includes the scenes in the City of Silmeroth and the Shivering Isles. These two places are especially notable for their distinctive, open architecture, since the game is designed around those forms of transportation. The Prologue also includes a few cut scenes that give you a small glimpse of what the other parts of Tamriel look like.

What really makes Tamriel Reloaded HD stands out, however, is the way in which it improves on the game's graphics. For instance, one of the most obvious improvements is the higher quality of lighting and shadowing. Another noticeable difference is the inclusion of an actual world map as opposed to the still-life maps and instanced maps in previous versions. Some of the new features include customizing your character through a selection process that includes altering your height and facial attributes, and choosing between male and female characters. Tamriel Reloaded HD is also the first game in the series to make use of an in-game item editor. These mods, which include clothes and armor as customizable items, make your character even more realistic and interesting to play as you discover the benefits of these additions through your travels throughout Tamriel.
