Synthetik is a top-down rogue-lite shooter. Set in the retro-inspired futuristic world of 1985, players must fight the evil AI forces of the Machine Legion through levels and ever-harder bosses. Two players can team up to battle through the game, although no local option exists. Despite a fairly simple set-up, Synthetik manages to impress with a level of uncommon detail in the gun play. Despite the perspective, head-shots and critical hits are possible. This adds a welcome touch of skill progression to the game.
