Storybook of Tactics is a premium strategy game for PC developed by Laughing Fox Games. It's a tactical battle experience featuring roguelike and deck-building mechanics for its gameplay. In it, players will navigate a dark fantasy world, battling various enemies to reach the boss fight at the end of each stage. 

Similar to games like The Last Flame and Tales & Tactics, Storybook of Tactics combines auto-battle gameplay with tactical strategy that lets players assemble and assign troops on the battlefield. They can also unlock various heroes with powerful abilities to deal with tough bosses.

Cards and tactics 

In Storybook of Tactics, you lead a group of heroes across the land to take on the forces of evil. As commander of your troops, make tactical decisions as you place each unit on a grid-based battlefield to create the ideal battle formation to deal with different enemy encounters. Collect and build a deck of heroes who can face any situation that comes your way. 

The gameplay revolves around auto-battler mechanics, and you'll explore multiple realms with unique environments and enemies as you take randomly generated branching paths and make your way to the boss at the end. You also get to choose from multiple leaders to lead your army, each providing unique traits and bonuses during battle. Experiment with different combinations and synergies to find a play style that suits you. 

You'll earn gold from every encounter, which you can use to unlock items for your heroes like weapons and support gear that grant more power and bonuses to help them during the fight. Now, in its current state, the game is a bit thin in content. Considering the pacing for stages is quite brisk, you'll reach the end of the campaign in no time.

Fun, engaging, but short 

All in all, Storybook of Tactics strikes a nice balance between tactical depth and accessible gameplay that fans of both strategy and auto-battler games can enjoy.
