STAR WARS™: Squadrons is a space shooter game developed by Motive Studios. In this game, you will play as an enlisted starfighter pilot, who will take the lead on commanding ships from both the New Republic and Imperial fleets. A single-player, simulation game, it depicts the events that happened after the Battle of Endor and the destruction of the Death Star II. It features action-packed 5v5 multiplayer dogfights and massive squadron battles. Can you play Star Wars squadrons without VR?

The STAR WARS™: Squadrons game is available in standard mode through PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Virtual reality fans can also get in on the fun as the game is also available in VR mode. From top to bottom, this space combat game has full VR support. However, it doesn’t necessarily require you a VR headset while playing it. But it does compel you to have a gamepad and/or keyboard and mouse. 

The game also features a hands-on throttle-and-stick (HOTAS) support on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to its creative director, it comes on the console via a day one patch. Even though this game has full VR support, it doesn’t uphold VR motion controllers at all. This is because the developers aim for this game hardware-oriented in order to feel the controls and tactile sensation in your hands. 

This space simulation game cross-play support enables you and your friends to squad up no matter what platform they're on. Game personalization wise, it offers an extensive cosmetic and customization options that allow you to design your pilot, cockpit, and ship exterior to your liking.
