Star Ocean: The Divine Force is a premium adventure game developed by tri-Ace for PC. This sci-fi fantasy RPG is the sixth mainline installment in the long-running Star Ocean series. It features an original story with two main protagonists and various side characters.

Just like with Tales of Arise, Star Ocean: The Divine Force features a vast fantasy open world for players to explore and discover. It will also bring back the popular dual protagonist system that was first introduced in Star Ocean: The Second Story for more dynamic gameplay and variety in combat.

What is Star Ocean?

Star Ocean is one of the longest-running action role-playing games franchises around, with its first release back in 1996 for the Super Famicom. The series established a reputation for itself with its intriguing narratives that feature branching story choices that lead to different endings. Its last entry was back in 2016, but fans have something to look forward to with the announcement of Star Ocean: The Divine Force.

The said game is the sixth installment in the mainline series and will feature a new original story while introducing players to two new main protagonists, Raymond and Laeticia. Another fan-favorite, first introduced in Star Ocean: The Second Story, the Dual Protagonist System will be making its return here. The story will unfold and adapt depending on the character you chose to play and your decisions.

The game's real-time battle engine has been developed and improved even further to offer a more immersive and free-flowing combat system. Now, all of this is well and good, but outside of a trailer and some in-game footage, not much else is known about this new release. The same goes for its purported release, which is expected to arrive sometime in 2022.
