ROKH is one of those ambitious early access open world games which has a whole host of problems despite a potentially impressive core. After a year of development, the game still has huge issues with crashes and glitches which can make the game unplayable for many especially when multiplayer is attempted. Joining servers is incredibly difficult, apparently down to server side problems with connection. Despite this, the core mechanics are thoughtful and interesting. Crafting is initially difficult and confusing but a little trial and error reveals a robust system which allows lots of creativity. ROKH also is great in terms of graphics, creating a real sense of isolation and huge space. While the developers have a wealth of experience, updates have often been abandoned due to the extra bugs they bring and progress has been slow. It may simply be a project which is attempting to do too much.

ROKH is a solid base hidden under difficulty and constant technical issues. Players will need an advanced system to even run the game only to find a whole new range of problems. Updates may turn the game into a challenging survival experience, but change has been painfully slow.
