Star Child PS VR PS4 takes subtle advantage of VR because its primary premise is that of a side-scrolling platform game, which doesn't lend itself well to 3D VR, and yet there are gaming elements where being in virtual reality drags you closer to the action. We live in an era where VR graphics are worse than the old Wii console graphics, but the developers of Star Child PS VR PS4 have worked hard to make up for lacklustre graphics potential with skillful color shading and blending, and by using light and shadow to define the terrain and hide the straight lines. In terms of development quality, this game is ahead of its time when compared with all the other games that have been released in the same year.

Less is more in this case

One may be tempted to claim that too little happens within this game. There are some lovely set pieces, but the actual platforming side of the game seems a little drawn out and thin. Yet, the subtlety is what makes it different from its flashy and sparkly competitors. The developers realized that not everybody wants to have light-burned scars on the back of their eyes from watching bright and flashy games through VR headsets. Some say that Star Child PS VR PS4 is understated and too subtle, but that is just what the VR gaming world needed when Star Child was released.
