Squadron 42 is a single-player adventure game that is set in the same universe as Star Citizen. Originally meant to be a campaign included in the aforementioned MMO game, this title offers a fresh perspective to the game’s overall greater universe while still staying true to its story and atmosphere. 

Much like in Star Citizen, players can look forward to some action-packed combat in Squadron 42, as they engage in galactic shootouts. There’s also a level of intrigue introduced into the gameplay as the game features a number of complicated puzzles meant for you to solve.

An out-of-this-world experience

Squadron 42 presents players with a deeply immersive experience that takes players on a galactic adventure. The game features some stunningly crafted 3D visuals that allow you to better visualize the fictional setting and place yourself right in the middle of the action. This is accompanied by a thrilling plot that’s packed with lore and a few nods to Star Citizen.

With a star-studded voice cast including the likes of Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, and Henry Cavill, this game creates an in-game experience like no other. This creates an even more cinematic experience that makes you feel as if you’re watching a tension-filled action film. The game’s use of tactical combat and stealth-based gameplay also add an enthralling touch that will keep you on your toes.

While the game has been marked as “feature-complete,” it is still in the midst of its polishing phase. This means that while the game’s elements and mechanics have been set in stone, it is still working on refining certain aspects to feel much smoother and intuitive. Given how long it took for the game to reach its feature-complete status following its initial announcement, though, this can take quite a bit of time to be fully finished.

While Squadron 42 isn’t quite polished just yet, its stunning visuals coupled with its impressive lineup of voice actors provide a profoundly cinematic and enthralling experience that fans of the franchise can look forward to. The game offers players an action-filled cosmic journey, packed with intricately designed puzzles, intense combats, and a highly immersive plot enriched by the lore of its sister game.
