Space Trader is an exciting and engaging strategy game for Android. It is a port of the classic Palm Pilot game “Space Trader” by Pieter Spronck. In this game, you play as a trader in space, buying and selling commodities across different solar systems. The game is inspired by David J. Webb’s PalmPilot game SolarWars and the 80’s classic 3D strategy game Elite.

The game offers ten different trade goods, including two illegal ones, which can bring in huge profits. You also have access to ten different ship types, each with unique features and capabilities. Ships can be equipped with various types of equipment, such as lasers, shields, and gadgets like a cloaking device. Additionally, you can distribute skill points to your character at the start of the game, allowing you to function better in your chosen role.

There are over a hundred solar systems to explore, each with different tech levels, governments, resources, and special situations. You may encounter police ships, pirates, and other traders while travelling to other solar systems. There are several ways to handle such encounters, including forcing a trader to allow you to plunder their ship. With about a dozen unique missions and offers available, Space Trader offers a unique and immersive gaming experience. The game is available for free under the GNU General Public License.
