Snake Pass is a 3D puzzle platform game in which you play Noodle, a colourful cartoon snake who needs to navigate a path through a series of ever more difficult levels. Although the basic concept is hardly an original one, the slithering, coiling motion of the game's character makes it very different from most other platform games on the market.

A platformer of a different kind

Snake Pass is definitely part of a well-established genre of platform puzzle games, but although its core concepts will be familiar to any fan of the genre, it manages to play completely differently from other platformers as a result of its character's unusual movement. As you progress through each level, you'll find yourself confronted by increasingly challenging puzzles. You'll need to use Noodle's movement to interact with various parts of the landscape to create a safe path over the many obstacles you'll find. Doing this requires rejecting some of your assumptions about platform gaming -- you need to master the art of slithering and coiling to survive. The graphics are bright, colourful and cartoony, and Noodle is charmingly silly-looking. There are a few frustrating patches, mostly resulting from the game's infrequent save points.
