Developed by an indie developer named Jakub Wasilewski, SlipWays is a mini-PICO-8-edition space adventure. It serves as a fragment of a complete and much greater game that is under progressive development on Steam. The desktop version of the game features a campaign mode. It will also contain a chamber of five races along with its various technology and philosophical prospect as well as procedurally-generated graphics. All of these are offered while maintaining the seamless gameplay of this preview.

Thrilling space-themed game

Your main objective is to build an interplanetary trading empire. To make that goal into reality, you must discover planets and trade goods between them. Either with the use of your right-button mouse or the SDFE keys, you will be able to drag around the map wherein you have to click, drop a wormhole next to as many planets as possible and find a planet to conquer. Depending on your chosen industry type, you will colonize a particular planet.

Two planets will have to be dragged between each other in order to create a slipway. This move eventually enables them to trade with each other. You must be wise in selecting which planets to connect and choose one planet that creates a certain item that the other planet needs. At the bottom right corner of your game screen, the structures that are available to be purchased can be seen. Meanwhile. the top-left corner shows various research technologies.

This space simulation game is highly time-sensitive. Thus, you have to try hard and get the best results under limited time pressure. Unfortunately, this turn-based game is only available to be played by a singleplayer so, you can't enjoy playing this game with actual players. An option to zoom in and out is also lacking. It would somehow be a great experience if you can actually take a step back and look at your production loops from time-to-time.

Despite a few lacking features, SlipWays is a great preview of the planned full game. You can guarantee the once you've experienced this mini-PICO-8-edition of the epic space adventure, you will be one of the players and who will anticipate and keep tabs on the latest development of this game. It is both an exciting and relaxing game, at the same time.
