Shroomify - Mushroom ID USA is an iPhone application that simplifies mushroom identification. The app comes pre-loaded with over 400 common fungi and over 1000 images. Upon opening the app, your location is used to load a relevant dataset to show only the mushrooms that occur in your country or region. The app's algorithms work by selecting the characteristics of the fungi you would like to identify, and then it provides you with the most likely matching mushrooms.

In addition, the app has a 'Top 20' of the month feature that lists all the common fungi you can find in the month you are in. This feature is useful for keen mushroom foragers or hunters. The app provides useful information, such as the edibility of all the mushrooms listed and a list of good edible mushrooms that grow in your country. Graphs and country rankings are also shown for each individual fungi to help you see how common it is and when it is most common during the year.
