SHOCK TROOPERS is a top-down shooter by SNK CORPORATION. The action game was first released on NEOGEO MVS arcade cabinet in 1997. This arcade emulation retains the intense battlefield with branching routes. There are 8 characters to choose from, but players can play in two modes. Lonely Wolf features 1 character to control, while Team Battle is composed of 3 switchable characters with a shared health meter.  Each character has different stats and unique screen-clearing bomb. The controls are simple and easy to grasp. Players can shoot in 8 directions. They can perform melee attacks when close against enemies. There is a dodge button to avoid enemy fire. The goal of the game is to rescue Dr. George and his granddaughter from the terrorist group Bloody Scorpions. Players can choose the route which will affect who will they fight, as well as the health bonus they will receive. The game includes online multiplayer for the authentic arcade experience.
