Multiplayer Gundam game
SD Gundam Battle Alliance is a multiplayer action game offered by Bandai Namco that allows you to pilot a Gundam. Here, you will lead a three-unit squadron and fight your way to correct a false world. The game features all mobile suits and characters from across the Mobile Suit Gundam history.
SD Gundam Battle Alliance allows up to three players to play in a team, although you can take on the mission solo. You will also conduct two missions in some of the stages. However, players will find that while the Gundam Suits are well-detailed, the environmental designs are lackluster.
Correct a false world
SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an action RPG set in G: Universe, a computer data space to which the history memory bank is uploaded. Here, you will play as the commander. With your programmer, Juno, and her assistant. Haro, you will take on the mission of correcting the world's distorted history. To do so, you will pilot a mobile suit and engage in action-packed battles.
What happens in G: Universe is a simulation, but the battles will affect the outcomes in the physical world. Worse, it can alter history, referred to as Breaks. Your goal is to prevent the Breaks from changing history by collecting the Fragment Keys. Some stages will task you with another mission besides the Break mission though. This is called the True Mission, where you play out events according to history.
As mentioned, the game features all the mobile suits across the Mobile Suit Gundam universe. Each will have four different upgrades. It even features the characters and some voice actors. However, while the mobile suits are well-detailed, the environment can be seen as pretty flat. Moreover, while it has straightforward gameplay, it lacks some depth. Players will also find the visual novel dialogues inserted during battles pretty annoying.
For the Gundam fans
All in all, SD Gundam Battle Alliance is a must-play for those who are into the SD Gundam franchise. While it introduces a new universe, the game plays tribute to the fans by including different characters and mobile suites into its gameplay. It also offers action-packed battles, which can be challenging at times. That said, newcomers might not enjoy the game fully.
