Scottish Police Reference is a full version iPhone application developed by alan spowart. As its name suggests, it serves as a comprehensive personal assistant on patrol for Scottish police officers. This app is also useful for anyone interested in the law, whether a new probationer or an experienced officer. It is regularly updated with changes to legislation that affect the user.

The app features a fully searchable database of more than 350 entries of current legislation that can be accessed offline at any time. It also contains officer guides that provide more information on subjects relevant to police officers, such as the Human Rights Act, Alcohol Licensing in the UK, Crime Scene Management or conducting Missing Person enquiries. Additionally, it includes a translation tool to identify the language of someone you are speaking to, and provides information on controlled drugs and how to identify them and their effects. The app also has many training MNEMONICS to help users easily recall the things they may forget, and keeps them up to date on their police powers. Lastly, it provides offline access to first aid advice at all times.
