Scarecrow CO-OP 2 is a free multiplayer horror adventure game that lets you run around a forest corrupted by a creature that was summoned by an unknown group of cultists. This is the second installment of Scarecrow COOP, both of which were created by SentryTurbo, an indie game developer.

This horror adventure game follows a similar dark theme and title in games created by SentryTurbo, like Fear Escape, Fog of Life, Driver's Late Nightmare - Road Trip Gone Wrong, and Trouble on the Road. So, don’t be surprised if this game will give you the creeps. Luckily, you won’t be alone.

Hilariously terrifying

Scarecrow CO-OP 2 starts off with an opening screen that lets you create a room online and set your player nickname. Your friends can enter the room you set, then you’re transported to a dark road with a broken-down car. The goal is to cleanse the forest by finding five items to cast the spell: holy water, cross, a spell scroll, knife, and candles. 

Initially, the game feels like a walking simulator because you’ll be strolling around the forest almost blindly. The only vision you have is wherever you point your flashlight. This adds to the thrill, as one of the elements of a scary story is to limit the viewers’ vision. However, there’s no floating map on the screen, so you can be literally going around in circles and have no idea.

In terms of design, the game is far from terrifying. The design is low-quality and pixelated, but not in an 8-bit way, even the monster, so it’s really not scary. Hence, if you’re playing with your friends and you’re in a Discord call, you can easily laugh everything out. Whatever the game lacks in scary design, however, it makes up in sound effects that will give you goosebumps.

Fun game to play with friends

If you’re looking for a horror game to play with your friends that’s not super serious, but still scary, Scarecrow CO-OP 2 is a good choice. Its story is simple and straightforward, but the game can still be challenging to finish because of the flashlight vision and the monster that will chase you down if it sees you. Overall, this is a very fun and entertaining game.
