Rusted Moss is a twin-stick shooter metroidvania game developed by faxdoc for Windows. The game offers a unique physics-based elastic grappling hook and full 360° aiming system, which allows players to feel in complete control of their character. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have empowered their own witches with stolen fae magic to survive the invasion of faeries. Players take on the role of Fern, a changeling who sets off on a journey to return fae to the world and end the Age of Men, alongside a mysterious shadow named Puck. The game offers 20+ unique abilities, 8 distinct weapons, and 6+ challenging bosses to defeat, along with multiple endings.

The grappling hook is the highlight of the game, as it is hard to learn yet rewarding to master. The game emphasizes tight and precise gunplay, which players can use to quickly switch between their arsenal of weapons to best suit their playstyle and situation. Each boss fight throws its own unique challenge at the player, allowing them to push their gunplay and grappling hook skills to their limits. The game also features a beautiful pixel art retro vibe with a modern aesthetic, making the world of Rusted Moss come alive with moody pixels and stylish animation.
