RTF Viewer is a Firefox extension designed to enhance the browsing experience by allowing users to view Rich Text Format (RTF) files directly within the browser. This utility automatically opens RTF files in the same tab when the user clicks on a link to such a file, providing a seamless and efficient way to access document content without additional software. The extension operates independently, ensuring that users can view files without relying on external services, similar to the built-in PDF preview feature in the browser.

To access local RTF files, users can simply click on the extension icon located in the toolbar. However, it's important to note that due to Firefox's security protocols, direct opening of files from the file system is not supported at this time. This limitation highlights the focus on maintaining browser security while still providing valuable functionality for managing RTF documents.
