RTF Viewer is a Chrome extension that allows users to view RTF (Rich Text Format) files directly in their browser. With this extension, users no longer need to download or open RTF files in separate applications.

One of the key features of RTF Viewer is its automatic display of RTF files when clicking on any link to an RTF file. This eliminates the need for manual downloading and opening of files, providing a seamless browsing experience. Similar to the PDF preview feature in Chrome, the RTF file is displayed within the same tab.

What sets RTF Viewer apart is that it does not rely on any external services to generate the preview. This ensures that users can view their RTF files securely and without any potential privacy concerns.

For users who need to open local files, RTF Viewer provides the option to click on the extension icon in the toolbar or open files directly from the file system in Chrome. However, it is important to note that this requires granting the extension the permission to access file URLs on the extension page.
