A bold blend of genres and challenges

Rough Souls: Adventures is a compact yet ambitious indie title offering three distinct gameplay modes—Adventure, Souls, and Rough. Created in the Godot Engine by a solo developer, this adventure game invites players to explore, fight, tame creatures, and sail through a unique world packed with secrets and surprises.

Adventure and exploration at its core

Adventure Mode in Rough Souls: Adventures shines with its interactive world. From taming Saiga Antelopes to navigating ships and scaling parkour zones, there’s always something new to try. Engaging NPCs offer quests, while environmental puzzles reward curiosity. However, the game’s short runtime (around 2 hours) leaves you wanting more content and deeper systems.

The directional combat in Rough Mode is refreshingly unique, relying on mouse-based parries and attacks. Mini-bosses and one major Souls-style boss keep the challenge high for fans of reactive fighting. The final act introduces high-stakes naval survival, adding further variety. Combat feels satisfying, though the learning curve can be steep at first.

A compact but creative adventure

Rough Souls: Adventures may be brief, but it delivers a variety of engaging experiences wrapped in a charming, handcrafted world. Its creative mechanics and genre mash-up make it a hidden gem worth exploring—especially for players seeking something different in a short indie package.
