In Ashen Reverie, you are the main character, who happens to have been seeing strange shadows early on in your life. Thinking they were harmless, you chose to ignore them, often feeling them fade in the corner of your eye. It happened countless times throughout your life that it became a part of your everyday life, making it a part of your childhood. 

However, after one mysterious night, the shadows in your vision seemed to have increased, both in intensity and frequency. Convinced that it’s due to some supernatural phenomenon, you decided to go to a shrine to put a stop to it. Then, you meet another girl who experiences the same thing, who you think might be the key to this problem, but her story does not make sense. 

Now, you are entangled in a mysterious event that took place a decade ago, with two people telling you different versions of what happened. Uncover the truth by interacting with characters in a branching narrative shaped by your choices. Use a notebook to track insights, messages, and critical decisions. However, this game's content includes descriptions of blood and bodily harm and crude language.
