Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is a role-playing game developed by Square Enix and xeen Inc., remaking the original Japanese tactical game Romancing SaGa 2 that was released in 1993. In this party-based RPG, you must govern the Kingdom of Varennes and broaden the expanse across several generations.  

Unlike the original game that utilizes 2D graphics, Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven sports 3D visuals while preserving aspects of the 1993 title that everyone loved, including Tomomi Kobayashi’s enchanting concept illustrations. It has also completely revamped the towns and dungeons, updating its terrains and layouts. 

Defend Varennes from the Seven 

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven follows the story of honorable heroes once regarded by the people as saviors. Due to their powers, the ancients exiled them into another realm, locking them in an alternate reality with no way out until they became stories passed down through generations as millennia flew. Enraged, they vow to seek revenge on the humanity who turned their back on them.  

Step into the shoes of the Empire of Varennes ruler who must protect his kingdom and its dwellers from the vengeful spirit of the seven heroes-turned-villains and horde of monsters roaming the world. This game contains more than 30 classes differentiated by distinct abilities and expertise in weapons, allowing users to choose what kind of emperor they want to become.

With its non-linear gameplay, you can play the title without narrative ties to a path-based progression, making the playthrough more enjoyable as it lets you make choices and carve your fate. Should it be a little too difficult or easy for your liking, the difficulty level can be adjusted from casual or normal to hard. Just note that the difficulty levels can be too drastic from one another.
