Get ready for a showdown

Rivals of Aether II is a multiplayer 2D fighting game that is a sequel to Rivals of Aether.  Inspired by games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rivals of Aether II seeks to improve on the brawler genre with combinations from other genres such as fighting games and a brand-new engine. Players can try out the free demo now.

As a sequel to Rivals of Aether, the game will feature a new generation of fighters and multiplayer brawler stages, as well as expanded lore and 3D visuals, new game mechanics, and more. Warring factions of the Aether Universe seek to harness power to clobber each other competitively and as a form of strength.

Wipe the floor with your rivals

In Rivals of Aether II, new improvements have been made to enhance the gameplay and immersion for the players and fans of the previous game. One of the major changes is that every single character featured in the game is all free to play, with no extra charges needed. This is true for both present and future characters that have yet to be announced for the game.

On top of that, online modes have been drastically improved with the introduction of a reliable rollback netcode, whether it is for local co-op or online PvP battles. New game mechanics have been added as well, such as the ability to grab and throw your enemies, grab onto ledges to save yourself from a quite deadly fall, and the ability to spawn shields as well.

The downside is that the game has since then switched from 2D to 3D Characters, which will make it even more difficult for modders of all levels to add in character mods for the game which is what made the players love the first installment of the game. Despite that, the new gameplay mechanics and engine can compensate for that.

It’s clobberin' time

With the removal of healthy mod support for the game, players may have to wait for quite some time before support for mods is restored. Until then, players can look forward to enjoying the brand-new mechanics and improvements added to the game, with a free gameplay demo available for everyone to try.
