Retrace the Light is an action-adventure game developed by Xiaming Game and published in collaboration with GlintForge for desktop gaming. In this captivatingly immersive and carefully detailed world, you play as an “enforcer” who must navigate the unseen layers of the self to bring inner healing through spatial retracing.  

Illustrated in a 2.5D world, Retrace the Light delivers an excellent combo of gripping combat and emotional storytelling, perfectly blending action and depth. It utilizes role-playing elements, a futuristic expanse, a third-person perspective, and time manipulation mechanics, offering a dynamic gameplay experience. 

Play as an enforcer 

Set in a dystopian world in the year 3323, players step into the role of an Enforcer Decem, a job that requires them to work with the human consciousness to repair them through Mirrormazes. This initiative emerged when Super AI Primus and humanity came together, aiming to strengthen societal order by supporting the mental recovery of individuals suffering from severe emotional distress through the Meta Mirror Project. 

Unfortunately, after a mission gone bad, Decem is left with no memories of his abilities as an enforcer. As Decem, you must relearn the said abilities on your own to continue your work. However, as you navigate the path to rediscovery, you realize that things are not as they seem, slowly unveiling a string of secrets surrounding the enigmatic project. 

In this gripping journey, you can encounter diverse enemies, each with unique skills and abilities. Make sure to use your retrace ability to backtrack to your previous steps and make strategic moves to outmaneuver enemies. Then, collect primary and secondary modules to customize your playstyle. However, although the game is promising, it focuses too much on narrative and falls short in combat.
