Red Pistol is an action-filled adventure game developed by Ace Horizon Studios and published by indie.io for PC. In this casual title, players step into the shoes of a gunslinger and are subjected to endless hordes of zombies brought to life by a Wild West vampire. 

Played from a top-down perspective and illustrated in 2D graphics, Red Pistol offers an arcade-style, combat-packed experience that taps into nostalgia while utilizing various gameplay mechanics, including roguelike, bullet hell, and shoot-‘em-up. This exploration-based title explores numerous themes, such as survival, retro, vampire, and the West. 

Eliminate zombies 

In Red Pistol, you play as Reed Ransom, a bounty hunter, who must eliminate relentless throngs of undead enemies and track down outlaws across various procedurally generated maps in the Wild West. Evolve your combat strategies through a selection of upgrades and experimenting with builds using the skill card system, which allows you to become more powerful as the game progresses. 

The game features a wanted system that adds an extra layer of challenge. As your notoriety and bounty increase, enemies grow tougher across Redwood, Desolation Sands, Whispering Pines, and Crimson Mansion. Each of these four dangerous worlds introduces its unique enemies and obstacles to overcome. Ensure that you pay attention to your camp or base and continually equip it with state-of-the-art tools, skills, and weapons. 

Take on intense boss battles against foes like Iron Heart, Soul King, and Blazing Crown, each with their unique skills and abilities. Eventually, you must face the source of the undead chaos in the frontier, the vampire Varius Valentine. However, the game suffers from a few drawbacks, including unoptimized gameplay, controller issues, and the need for some balancing tweaks to improve the overall experience. 

Wild West adventure 

Red Pistol is a fast-paced, undead-slaying romp through a stylized Wild West, blending classic arcade charm with modern roguelike mechanics. While it stumbles with a few technical and balancing issues, its rich variety of enemies, strategic upgrades, and thrilling boss battles make it a standout indie shooter that fans of retro action games can appreciate and enjoy. With some polish, it could become a genre favorite.
