The general concept of Prune is very simple. Players are presented with their own plant pot and a seed that they need to nestle in the soil and nurture so that it slowly grows and flourishes. Once the plant starts to become bigger, it is necessary to determine the best places to slice through in order to help the plant grow towards the sun. Successfully pruning the plant in the right places will make the plant flower and lead players to the next level.

Prune is definitely more difficult than it appears at first and making a wrong move can be rather frustrating. However, the creators have combated this to a certain extent by allowing players to skip levels if they fail a few times. Despite the rather bland concept, the stunning artwork and simple controls help to create a game that is rather engaging, if only for a few minutes at a time.
